Brain loss!
I have often heard that you lose brain cells after having babies. I thought I would be immune to such problems seeing I paid my dues in having 2 babies after 47 hours of labor, alas, I have lost my entire brain, I think!
I watch DVDs when folding clothes or trying to get babies to sleep and I need the remote controls so I don't have to get up and turn the channel or push any buttons (I know I am such a guy in that facet!). I was getting ready to watch my show and I couldn't find the remotes. Mason was taking a nap and I thought he had taken them to play a joke on me. So I woke him up (anyone who knows Mason knows I did this with much trepidation...he tends to get grumpy during and after naps) he groggily said he hadn't taken them. I looked everywhere and finally had to resort to getting up and changing the channel BY HAND!
Previous to this I had scooped up all the babies clothes from the various rooms I change them in (one being the TV room) and had started a load. Mason had asked why it was so loud in the washer, but I calmly stated that it was all the buttons on baby clothes that was making all the racket!
After the load of laundry was done, I got up and pushed Pause by hand and went to get the load so I could put them in the dryer and what did I find...the remotes. Both remotes (batteries included) had been washed (not dried)! The one to the DVD player works and I haven't had the courage to try the other. Needless to say Mason had a GREAT laugh at my expense and now thinks he needs to check everything I do!
Enjoy the laugh I know all of you are having!

Jumping Beans!
I bought a Johnny Jump-up today thinking it would help me retain my sanity with two babies, but alas they aren't quite big enough to see over the edge. According to the safety rules, they must be able to see over the edge. Oh well, maybe in a month they will fit. Dallin did look pretty cute in it despite the apparent safety violation!
I sleep where I can!

Side sleepers
Carrots!
No, I am not talking about their hair! My babies started eating solid foods about a week ago. We started with rice cereal in the morning and at night and graduated to squash and carrots for lunch. Clara thinks it is better on her face while Dallin thinks anything going in his mouth is great. I finally had to break down and order high chairs the other day. I will post a picture of the babies in them when they arrive. There is not much shopping in Carlsbad, NM...so I had to order them online. Online shopping is my friend!
She stole by binky!
Granee came to visit!
We were very fortunate to have Granee come and play with us for a whole week! It was so nice to have her come and hold babies. Both of the babies have ear infections so they are a little needy and mama can only comfort one at a time. It was great to have an extra set of hands to snuggle babies. We didn't get anything else done, but the babies were happy.
Update on the babies:
Dallin - 12 pounds 10 ounces and 24" long
Clara - 11 pounds 4 ounces and 24" long
I can't believe they are getting so big so fast. Clara is over 3 times her birth weight and Dallin is over double!

Stuffed Animals
Little Bunny Foo-foo!
I don't know if that is how you spell foo-foo, but oh well. To celebrate Easter we dressed Dallin up as an Easter Bunny. I am a terrible mother who did not take pictures of the babies in their finest first Easter outfits. This will have to make up for it. Happy Easter and may we remember the real reason for celebrating this Easter season!

Firsts!
Today has been a day of firsts. Clara ate her first solid meal! She didn't think she liked it for the first couple of bits, but as soon as her tummy was filling up, she changed her mind. Mason wanted to know why I couldn't keep the cereal in her mouth instead of all over her face!
Dallin had a less exciting first today. He has been a bit congested for the past week and has been coughing. At first it was a dry cough that he seemed to like the sound of, but today it changed to sounding like it was in his lungs...hence the first visit to the insta-care and breathing treatments every 4-6 hours! He is such a trooper. Why is it babies get sick on the weekends?
